LA . TIMES
Los Angeles Times is a professional looking newspaper.
I
prefer look at the online version rather than the actual physical paper because
for one picture quality is a little better when it is seen on a screen rather
than on paper and also its easier to stream through sections online rather than
going through paper. We do live in an era where people get lazy and would
rather use technology to do things.
LA Times online has a good amount of white
space making it a clean spread and easy to read. LA Times on paper is clean and
it meets the guidelines for newspaper design. It has one dominant image and
three other images in different sizes, which is good.
I like how both, online
and actual paper, they have enough breathing space where columns are not too
close and so forth. I did notice that ads on the front page of LA Times paper
are not really shown where as for online there is plenty of ads and they are
done in a tasteful way.
On the other
hand, the online spread looks fairly long to me. It almost seems like its
longer than the actual front page of the actual paper itself.
